QBC Mission Trips

We want to glorify God by obeying the Great Commission – proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ to the unreached people groups of the world.

Matthew 28:18-20

“All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Key activities

We aim to encourage every church member to be committed to playing a part in the church’s missions ministry. They can do this by becoming long-term cross-cultural missionaries, participating in short-term or door-step missions, or supporting missionaries and missions with prayer, financial support and practical help.

To this end, we encourage all church members to increase their understanding and awareness of missions, such as through attending the Kairos course. The church also holds an annual missions month with special messages and activities.
Members are encouraged to join the teams which visit the various overseas mission points supported by the church. They can also participate in the church’s local cross-cultural ministries such as to the mainland Chinese.

QBC supports the work of the Nepal Baptist Church Council in providing pastoral education, youth outreach and training. We also support several evangelists to reach out to villages in the more remote part of Nepal. Other projects we fund include micro-enterprise, sanitation and clean water works. We have also been sending short-term mission teams to Nepal regularly to carry out medical missions ministry.

QBC has been supporting local churches and pastors working in a tribal region for many years. Our members have organised youth camps, conducted training and outreach activities together with the local church. We have engaged in several community development projects in this area and recently helped rebuild several longhouses. We intend to continue to provide practical help as well as spiritual support to these communities.

QBC has been serving in the southern Mekong River region for more than 10 years, a partnership that has extended to Kuang Nam in Central Vietnam since 2012 - a very poor region which suffers frequent flooding. Our main focus has been to provide medical aid in partnership with local churches and doctors. We have also been supporting pastors and students, and funding community projects including providing water tanks, subsidising the school fees of poor students and caring for poor families.

MIGRANT WORKERS

QBC has been responding to the needs of migrant workers in our community. For more than 10 years, we have been arranging activites and Sunday night services for Chinese migrant workers, with more than 500 workers who have joined us and since returned to their hometowns, many of whom were also baptised in QBC. An outreach team has recently been established to reach out to the Indian and Bangladeshi migrant workers in our neighbourhood.

Love in Action

Besides reaching out to the communities in Singapore, we also desire to be a blessing to the communities beyond our shores. Love in Action is a key community outreach initiative to show the love of God not only with words or tongue, but with action and in truth (1 John 3:18) to the needy communities in neighboring countries. We partner with various NGOs to provide volunteers and resources to help these communities complete specific projects from house building to renovation, to teaching school and providing free medical care.
